Ernest Hemingway was an American novelist, journalist and short-story writer. He had a strong influence on 20th-century novels because of his easy iceberg theory writing style.

He has also won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954. He has published 7 novels, 6 short-story collections, and 2 nonfiction in his lifetime.

Hemingway’s full name is Ernest Miller Hemingway. He was born on July 21, 1899 in Oak Park Village, U.S.

His father Clarence Edmonds Hemingway was a physician and his mother Grace Hall Hemingway was a musician.

He was a good athlete during school. He was good in many sports like boxing, track and field, water polo, football, etc. During his last two years of school, he worked as a sportswriter in the school’s newspaper and yearbook.

After high school, he worked as a cub reporter for The Kansas City Star newspaper. In December 1917, he thought of joining the US Army but was rejected due to his poor eyesight.

After this Ernest joined Red Cross where he worked as an ambulance driver in Italy. After working there for a year, in 1918 he came back home and wrote A Farewell to Arms Novel on his wartime experiences.

In 1921 he was sifted to Paris where he worked as a foreign correspondent. In 1926 Ernest published the novel The Sun Also Rises.

After World War II, he worked as a journalist at Normandy landings and the liberation of Paris.

In 1954 Ernest suffered a major plane crash. Because of this, his health started deteriorating. Similarly, he spent 5 years in illness.

And in 1959, tired of his illness, he committed suicide with a shotgun at his home.
