This book is based on the friendship and mental illness theme. It has been talked about mental illness like anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
It is a fictional story as well as a personal story. Because john green once said that this story affects my childhood life.
This story is about 16-year-old high school student Aza Holmes. Which is associated with mental illness like OCD and anxiety. Because of this, she is struggling internally.
Along with that, she is also very sad because she has lost her father. During that time she feels her frustration that she knows it is a problem. But she cannot find a way through fixing it.

But finally, Aza eventually realizes that she must accept herself and learn to see herself outside of her thought. Because thoughts are only thoughts. They are not you, you belong to yourself even when your thoughts don’t.
I personally think that this is a fantastic book that teaches us how to live with mental illness and how to get out of it.
In short, This book teaches us that when we share our struggles with others we become stronger. And we can’t control life because life is not something you wield.
