Who Is Ralph Waldo Emerson?
Waldo was born on May 25, 1803 in Boston, the 21st popular city in the United States. His full name is Ralph Waldo Emerson. He is an American essayist, philosopher, poet and lecturer.
His father Rev. William Emerson was a Unitarian minister. And his mother’s name is Ruth Haskins. When Waldo was 8 years old, his father died of cancer. So he was raised by his mother and his aunt Mary Moody Emerson.

His aunt lived with him till her death. Waldo did his early studies at Boston Latin School. And further studies at Harvard College. During this time, he also worked as a waiter and teacher for the expenses of his studies.
When Waldo was in the last year of his college, he made his own poem and presented it in front of Harvard’s Class Day of his college.
After her graduation, he worked as a teacher at Young Ladies School. He worked here for two years. Along with his work he studied and wrote about nature.

In 1826, his health deteriorated slightly. His health deteriorated due to the cold. So he went to live in some hot state. He moved to Florida. Where he composed many of his poems.
There he befriended Napoleon Bonaparte’s nephew, Prince Achille Murat. Later Murat became an important figure for his intellectual education. After returning from Florida, he worked as a junior pastor at Second Church in Boston.
At that time, his wife died. Because of this, they disagreed with the Church’s methods. He left the church and started a magazine of his own. In which he started sharing his thoughts.
He then traveled to Europe and England to tour. A year later he returned to the US and moved to Newton, Massachusetts with his mother.
At the same time, the lyceum movement happened. He then thought of pursuing a career as a lecturer. After some preparation, he gave some 1,500 lectures in “The Use of Natural History” in Boston.
And on top of this, he wrote and publishes his first essay “Nature”. After this, he gave many lectures. And also wrote many essays. Such as Self-Reliance, The Over-Soul, Circles, The Poet, and Experience.

Through his essays and poems, he developed the connection between ability, soul and the world. He loved nature the most. So he became a naturalist philosopher.
Also, he rejected the views of God and adopted a peaceful approach. Apart from this, he has also written a lot about romance. He has said a lot about the limitlessness of the private man in his lectures.
Today, he is also known as a mentor and friend of the American naturalist Henry David Thoreau.
