Angela Davis Quotes

In this post, we will look at the greatest angela davis quotes, a woman who spent her life fighting against racism and supporting feminism.

Even in the age of modern and technology like the 21st century, the poison of racism has been spreading around the world. Whether it is discrimination between different religions, between men and women, or between blacks and whites.

We all have become very smart and have made a lot of progress in science but the scourge of racism is still there and nothing has changed. People are not ready to understand that a person of any race, religion or color does not change that he is a human being.

Seeing all this makes me very embarrassed and angry. How stupid a man is despite being so intelligent. To stop this growing racism there were some great thinkers in history who protest against racism.

Angela Davis

One of them is Angela Yvonne Davis, an American political activist, philosopher, scholar, and author who is a member of the USA Communist Party and a founding member of the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism.

She was born on January 26, 1944, in Birmingham, Alabama to an African-American family. Angela studied her philosophy from the famous philosopher Herbert Marcuse. After her studies, she joined the Communist Party and participated in various movements, such as the second-wave feminist movement and the campaign against the Vietnam War.

But in 1970, Angela Davis was caught with a gun in the courtroom and was also charged for the murder of 4 people. So Angela was overnight declared a wanted criminal by the FBI. For this, she was imprisoned for many years.

However, all of this may have been a conspiracy against Angela because she was a member of the Communist Party and was also involved in some movements.

After her release from prison, Angela Davis rejoined the Communist Party and became a professor of ethnic studies at San Francisco State University. She took over the feminist studies department at the University of California in 1991 and founded the Critical Resistance Organization in 1997, Which works for prisoners’ rights.

Angela Davis retired in 2008 but continued to write books on social issues such as class, feminism and gender. For her social work and sacrifice, she was awarded the Lenin Peace Prize by the Soviet Union and the National Women’s Hall of Fame.

In 2020, Angela Davis was included in Time magazine’s list of 100 most influential people in the world. Finally, let’s look at some Angela Davis Quotes which are on different social problems like feminism and racism.
